A few words about who we are, what we do,
and briefly about our plans for the future.
Health and Safety
Publications Ltd
Health and Safety Publications Ltd., started trading in 2005 and is owned by Marek Szepietowski, a Polish national and his Irish wife Rose. Marek who has a health and safety training background saw a gap in the market for quality, professional health and safety training material. Marek and Rose both working from home in Rathcoole, Co. Cork, designed, published and printed their first training manual on the topic of Manual Handling which was a huge success.
Training companies and individual trainers were delighted to see such quality books appearing in the market place especially when they discovered they could customise the covers to promote their own businesses. Later in 2014 the business moved to the Newberry Cross Industrial Enterprise Park in Mallow, and now supplies an extensive range of books, (which is constantly growing) used for training in the various fields of health and safety.
Marek appeared on Dragon’s Den in 2014 and received investment offers from two of the Dragons, Barry O’ Sullivan and Peter Casey.
All of the books are compliant with current legislation and are packed with vital information, useful photographs and humorous sketches making them reader friendly. As winners of North Cork Business and Tourism Awards, the best SME and overall Business of the Year Award 2019 we have been described as the standard setter in the field of health and safety training literature. We were also lucky to win North Cork Enterprise Award (LEO) in 2016 and the best small business in Mallow in 2017.
Health and Safety Publications Ltd., also supplies a number of visual training aids such as anatomy models, safety posters and presentations.
We are the leading provider of the RSA’s Driver CPC books in Ireland and also work with multi-national companies to create customised and bespoke books such as employee/contractor handbooks and presentations. We expanded our net recently and are now growing our business in the UK and have supplied books in Polish and Russian.
Becoming the “go to” company for health and safety training literature is integral to our customer service plan which is why listening to our customer’s requirements and providing the best service possible is our number one priority!

Plans for the Future
With online learning becoming extremely popular we plan to evolve our business to develop digital versions of all our books so that our customers can continue to use them in both soft and hard copy. We are also looking into developing e-learning courses.
We have also developed a range of Children’s books called the Sam and Sue Safety Series which provides a much needed resource which aims to develop safety awareness on various topics in young children. The colourfully illustrated books combined with fun and engaging stories contain a subtle safety message. This series is continuously growing so please check us out at www.samandsue.com
